About the NH Creative Communities Network

Organizations, municipal/government agencies and commissions, and community committees in New Hampshire that support the development of the creative economy at the local, regional, or state level and understand the Network's mission, "...to strengthen and promote economic and community development across New Hampshire through the arts, artists, and creative industries" are eligible to join the Creative Communities Network.

Needs we serve

We Network!

Network members share resources, discuss community arts-related issues and plan collaborative, capacity building projects.  An active listserve and Facebook group are maintained for resource sharing among members. Topics of common interest include:

  • Affordable live-work space for artists/creative workers

  • Public art programs

  • Community cultural planning and cultural assets surveys (local, regional and statewide)

  • Economic impact studies

  • Funding options

  • Cultural tourism

  • Creative Workforce

  • Creative Placemaking

We Collaborate!

Network participants engage in diverse, cross-sector projects that enrich community life, help create vibrant downtowns, and support local economies of communities throughout New Hampshire. For example, NHCCN created a Creative Economy Toolkit that includes a template to integrate the arts into community master plans, resource information and a Powerpoint presentation to help educate those in other sectors about the impact of the creative economy in New Hampshire communities.

Another collaboration was made possible by Network participant Creative Concord. Creative Concord contracted with Minnesota-based Artspace to conduct an incubator space survey. Network participants benefited from a free Artspace led workshop focused on affordable live-work space models for artists and creative workers.

We Provide Educational Workshops!

Creative Communities Network members are available to make presentations and lead workshops on how to advance the Creative Economy in your community. Please contact us to discuss making a presentation to your city or arts council, economic development council, planning board, tourism office, chamber of commerce, civic organization, or any other group interested in learning more about Creative Economy strategies.

The Network also assists in cross-sector statewide creative community education efforts and is working to develop and/or strengthen partnerships with those involved in planning, tourism, economic/community development, regional planning and business sectors.

How We Govern

A Steering Committee assists in the governance of the all-volunteer NHCCN.
